According to a forecast by the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG), autumnal high-pressure weather is expected over the next few days, with rain coming from the west only on All Saints’ Day. Temperatures will rise up to 21 degrees with foehn influence.

The details: On Friday, the high pressure influence with calm autumn weather will continue. In the Danube region, at Bodensee and in the inner Alps, especially in the Carinthian basins, there will be some early fog again, but it will mostly dissipate. Away from the fog, mostly bright sunny autumn weather prevails and only a few high clouds pass through. The wind will blow moderately to briskly from the southeast to the south in the mountains, in föhn areas and on the eastern edge of the Alps, otherwise it will remain light. Early temperatures will range from minus three to plus seven degrees, daytime highs will reach ten to 20 degrees, depending on fog or foehn.

Weather on Saturday continues autumnal and calm
On Saturday, the sunny and calm autumn weather will continue, in the morning there will be some fog again, but it will soon dissipate. In the west, however, more high clouds will move in than recently and in Vorarlberg the sunshine will already be largely shielded in the afternoon, but rain is not expected. The wind will continue to blow briskly from the south in the mountains and in foehn zones, otherwise it will remain light. Early temperatures will again be minus three to plus seven degrees, rising to eleven to 20 degrees during the day.

On Sunday, there will be some fog and high fog patches again. They will persist, sometimes tenaciously, until after noon. In addition, heavier clouds will move into the southwest during the day, a few raindrops cannot be completely ruled out, but mostly it will remain dry. Otherwise, the sun will shine. The wind will be brisk at the eastern edge of the Alps, in the mountains at times brisk to strong from southerly directions. Otherwise, it will be weak to moderate from the east. From two to eight degrees in the morning, the thermometer will rise to ten to 21 degrees, depending on the duration of the fog, the sun and the Föhn, with the highest temperatures in the west and along the northern side of the Alps.

Beginning of the week with increasingly rainy weather
On Monday, it will be increasingly rainy in the west, in the afternoon and evening the rain will spread to East Tyrol, Salzburg and the Innviertel region of Upper Austria. Further east, it will remain mostly dry until the evening, but also only partly sunny, with regionally quite tenacious patches of high fog, especially over the lowlands. The wind will be light to moderate, on the mountains and in the very east at times still very brisk from southeast to southwest. Early temperatures will range from three to ten degrees, with daytime highs of nine to 17 degrees.

On Tuesday, the precipitation of the night will subside in the morning. Subsequently, it will loosen up and the sun will show itself. In the west, some sun and partly dense clouds will alternate, and some rain showers will pass through. Snow will fall at altitudes above 1,300 to 1,600 meters above sea level. In the afternoon, showers will also spread more frequently in the southern parts of the country. The wind will be light in the south, otherwise it will blow moderately to briskly from a westerly direction at times. From zero to nine degrees in the morning, temperatures rise to eight to 15 degrees.
